Consulting Services

ComSec offers consulting services that can give you an advantage in meeting the challenges associated with transportation and trade compliance. Businesses certainly understand what a consultant is and the advantages associated to utilizing a strong professional service when faced with new regulations and projects.

We realize that one of the biggest challenges to implementing the correct solution is finding an effective way to integrate that solution into your daily routine without disrupting productivity. Our consultants can evaluate and assist with programs and training that ensure the stability of your individual business needs.

CCSF Development
ComSec understands the elements of the CCSP program and we realize there are many approaches and alternatives to be considered. We can help you evaluate the impact to your business by assessing the best overall CCSF design and applying the most effective processes to meet both your supply chain needs and TSA regulations.

Our CCSF evaluation includes:
Facility Design – to be efficient a facility must have appropriate equipment and well-organized throughput.

CCSF Application – ComSec can assist you with the application process, help you gather the necessary documents, interact with TSA on your behalf and respond to questions and information requests.

Training – The stringent training requirements established for CCSF cargo screeners must be oriented specifically to the screening technology selected for your facility. ComSec can develop and submit to TSA a screener training program that meets the outlined requirements for initial training and provide an ongoing internal training mechanism.

Equipment – The determination of which screening technologies to utilize is crucial to developing an effective screening program.

Security – Access Control is an essential component in the CCSF program. An assessment of the best and most cost effective security implementation for your needs is a top priority.

Employee Screening – ComSec can help you with the vetting process of personnel involved in cargo screening. We can assist with designing a system for periodic checking of employee records and identifying incomplete or omitted data.

Chain of Custody – ComSec can help you determine the most cost effective techniques and technologies to utilize for your chain of custody methods.

CCAT Reviews and Submissions
Commodity Classification Automated Tracking or CCAT is an official determination of an ECCN for a particular product or item issued by the Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security.

ECCN stands for Export Control Classification Number, and every commodity has one. A ECCN determines weather a particular product can be exported to a specific destination according to the US Code of Federal Regulations (15 CFR). Having the proper ECCN information will help provide a smooth export to its ultimate destination.

The review involves:
Gathering the information to properly identify the product for the reviewing officer
Reviewing the Commerce Control List to determine the probable area of classification assignment
Submitting the Electronic Classification Review Request in the SNAP-R system
Submitting all supporting documents such as sales brochures, catalogs, technical drawings and data electronically to the reviewing department.

Export Training
Our Export training program includes both BIS and ITAR training modules, each with their own unique approach to understand and help clarify the application of these regulations to your business. On-site targeted training is designed to focus on your particular industry needs and contains elements that address:
The Governing Regulations (EAR or ITAR)
Controlled Activities
Classification of Products (ECCN or USML)
Licensing Determination
Penalties for Non-compliance
